Hulk Smash... and stuff?

Yeeesh, another week without a steady flow of art?  This will not stand!  I thought I got my groove back with January...  Well, saying and doing are different things, so I need to stop saying I'll draw more, less... and DO draw more, um... more?   It makes sense in my head.

Anywho, above is a drawing of the Hulk.  Before the Nerd Nation tears me apart... yes, I know his face is a bit too long.  As the Hulk, is more cubish.  Yes, his nose, should be smaller, and a bit more closer to the eyes...  I wasn't really going for accuracy with this, just was having fun with the line work (which I like very much in this one!)... I went to throw some color on, and after putting on the flats, I was like... y'know, the flats are enough.  this does not require shading.  It serves its purpose.  So there ya go.

Robin

I've been doodling Robin a lot in the past week or so... Don't really know why... just have... so, I figured why not post one here... so here's my warm up drawing of the day...   Robin.

BANE-she

Yeesh, 5 days with no new art posted on here.  I am ashamed of myself!  Really!  But seriously, this drawing took waaaaay longer to finish than it should it have.

For those not in the know, this would be the 2nd entry in my "Batman Rogues Gallery Goes Wild" series (working title), where I take Batman's greatest villians and turn them female (the ones that aren't already female, that be).  The first one was The Joker, which was my first post on this art blog.  While many might of expected me to follow it up with Riddler or Two-Face, I decided to take the same confusing turn that Christopher Nolan did, and I give you... BANE!  Bane is not a very common Bat-villain, in fact, aside from breaking the Batman's back in the mid early 90s, he hasn't really done much else, which made it an interesting villain choice for the next Bat-film.

The challenge of making him a her, proved even more difficult for me, because most of the ladies I draw are a bit more slender and sexy.  Not that buff isn't sexy (if that's your thing), but I go the more traditional road when drawing women.  So it proved a challenge making Bane both female, muscular, and still retain some femininity.

Wait till they get a load of me!

Hello 2011!!!

It's around 9:30am (PST) on this first day of a new year...  and this is the first post of "Side Effects May Include Drawsiness" (Love that word!).  I'm mildly hungover after a night of getting frunked (love that word too!), but it's "Resolution Day" and this year I have several resolutions!  But I'm only gonna talk about this one.

This is my art blog, that I just started today.  It's the resolution I think I'm most excited about.  But enough babbling.  Many artistic people do art blogs, and I am an artistic person, so here's mine.  Like most artist blogs, I'm gonna try to post something daily.  And like most artist blogs, that probably won't happen.  But the point is to get myself drawsy for 30min-2 hours+ every day... and then post the fruits of those labors here.  A lot of it will just be sketch work, or works in progress (we call those WIPs, in the art world!), but I will post fully finished works of paintings or commissions as they occur, and again, this will hopefully be daily.  I will then write some blurb about it.

The above art is once such example.  For a good chunk of last year, I kept having the urge to draw Batman's rogue gallery as girls (the ones that weren't already girls).  But kept putting it on the back burner of my mind.  But creating this blog would be a great place to showcase ideas such as this.  So here's the first... Joker.  I will more than likely continue to draw the rest, and post them.  Then I'll move on to other ideas as they occur. I  want to draw a zombie, I'll draw it.  I want to draw a ninja, i'll draw it.  The "whatever" ideas are what will be the bulk of this blog.

Okay, I'm gonna stop typing now, cuz hangovers aren't a good mix with typing.
